Since 2017, Small Change has run over 60 experiences and workshops

Small Change can lead to lasting impact

Experience

Small Change organises a broad range of events which help people experience the wonder of the natural world first hand —  often in surprising ecosystems close to home, that may otherwise be overlooked. These experiences are intended to nurture a better understanding of exactly what is at stake when we consider our actions, both as individuals or organisations, and how they impact the environment.

Educate

As part of these experiences, we champion eduction as a key element in the journey to regenerate and protect our environment. A critical part of this is designing events which create dialogue between experts and community members. The complex and dynamic nature of climate change research means that informed decision can often be a daunting task; we strive every day to teach (and learn) about how to make a lasting impact.

Evoke

Through this two pronged approach of creating meaningful connection with nature and facilitating learning, we work to evoke action. All Small Change programs are crafted to help participants leave with an understanding of the ways in which they can make a difference in their homes, communities, organisations and beyond.

Funding

Small Change is funded mostly by individuals’ donations and fees from corporate events. These funds are channelled into keeping public events — such as beach clean-ups and intertidal walks — completely free, and into expense subsidies for volunteers in larger, hands on volunteering programs with conservation partners. Help us to keep our programs free!
